Elissha+Manoah | Sunshine in the Wintertime

February 2, 2010

After weeks of fog and rain in the valley, I was expecting cold weather and possible rain on Elissha and Manoah’s winter wedding. When I checked the forecast, it showed sun and I was so stoked to drive into the mountains to Oakhurst to find the sun shining and an awesome couple ready to start their future.
Elissha’s brother is Tim, an awesome wedding filmmaker and the guy who filmed the promo video on my site. When I first met with her and Manoah, she told me that she knew that she wanted me to be her wedding photographer before she was even engaged. I was pretty humbled to say the least. Manoah is a guy that can make anyone smile and he definitely made Elissha smile with the wedding ring that he custom designed for her (he is a jeweler in Bend, OR).
It definitely felt more like a day with friends than work (pretty typical) while photographing the wedding. The light we had to work with for portraits at Sierra Meadows Country Club in Ahwahnee was just amazing and the landscape there is awesome. It was also a treat to work with Carol of Belissimo Brides, who is an incredible makeup artist out of Oakhurst, CA.
On a side note: does everyone like the new format of the blog images? It reads more like a storyboard which I like, but the images are smaller which is a drawback. What do you think? Feel free to leave a comment below in the comment space.

Kia Gregory: This looks like it was taken in summer. I love how warm and sunny everything is. Perfectly mimics the light shining from the bride and groom's faces.

Elissha & Manoah: We LOVE the pictures. A perfect thing to wake up too on our one month anniversary! Can't wait to see the rest!

s h e r r y: Stunning photographs. I love the light!!

Tim Sarquis: It's one thing to work with you, but when I get to watch you work and take photographs of my family and me, it really shows how great of a photog you are! From the curtious way you talk to people and the smile thats on your face all day, you have really set the bar for photogs! I feel fortunate that I get to work with you from time to time and to call you my friend! Amazing job done! Keep it up!

Kameron Olds: One of the beautiful things about your work is the consistency of style. With every new post the clients get another perfect example of exactly how their own photos will turn out. Beautiful as usual!

Matt Allen: dig em scott...and really like the format...like you said, it tells the story well and the pics are still big enough to appreciate...well played...subnote: the b&w conversions work WELL with the light in this set :)

Carol Cardinale-Ruiz: The hair and make up was done by Carol @ bellissimobrides.com
