Junebug wedding Blog | Capella Pedregal Cabo San Lucas, Mexico Featured Wedding

Today’s featured wedding is a perfect example of how you can have great style and grace, yet still have a super fun wedding party. Rachel and Ryan had one of the sweetest weddings in the cold of December in New York City. Their spirit was truly carefree and enjoying the day was at the forefront of their plans (as it should be).
We made some group photographs in the iconic Madison Square Park and then a few with the Flatiron Building in the background as well. The wedding ceremony and reception were both held at the chic Studio 450 in Chelsea. It is a loft style venue with a great layout to really be creative. The views of the Hudson River and the cityscape are unparalleled. The simplicity of Rachel’s design was due in large part to her awesome wedding planner/designer, Elisabeth Events. It was such a pleasure working with Lisa and her team, they did such an extraordinary job pulling off the modern, romantic look and feel that the couple wanted.
Again, it was so inspiring to be in New York City again photographing. I simply love, love, love it there and it always seems to pull the creativity out of me as a photographer. Congratulations to Rachel and Ryan! Speaking of New York, it looks like I’ll be there a handful of times this year and would love to hook up for an engagement session or even another wedding commission. Please view my contact info to check for dates. Enjoy.

Where do I even start when trying to communicate the style and grace that Amy brought to her sophisticated, small, intimate wedding at Anderson Ranch in the wine country of Kenwood, CA? Amy and David reside in Chicago, IL and decided a wine country, destination wedding would be ideal. The setting was simply breathtaking, the details were beautiful and the people made for such a memorable day. I love how Amy stuck to her vision and how concise everything was. The ladies at A Savvy Event (San Francisco and Napa/Sonoma wedding planners) did a wonderful job of bringing everything together and keeping the day running smoothly. I believe this was only the third wedding at Anderson Ranch and I’m excited about the possibility of photographing there again, the setting is just incredible.
I hope everyone can gather some sort of inspiration from the details, the moments and the sheer beauty of this wedding. Also, there is a great write-up on Snippet & Ink that has some insight from Amy on her wedding, check it out.
This week I’m off to a beautiful wedding in Pasadena, CA and then off to Las Vegas, NV for the annual WPPI tradeshow at the MGM Grand. The weather has been gorgeous lately and I’m thinking we’re going to have a lovely spring. If you’re thinking about booking an engagement session (or even an elopement) for this spring the calendar is filling up fast. Enjoy.

The Epic of 2010

January 8, 2011

***Conditions for viewing this post: if you view this post, you must take 15 seconds and leave a comment saying which of these photos is your personal favorite for the year. I’d love to hear your input. Thank you.***

I love using the word “epic” and most people who know me know that I’ve been using it for quite some time now. I’ll never forget watching Pat O’Connell and Wingnut Weaver in Endless Summer II and hearing them use that word over and over. Even though it seems like “epic” is getting a lot of play lately and somewhat of a trendy word,I’m not going to let it stop me.
So with that preface, let me announce the following post of the epic, epicness that was 2010. I cannot even begin to use words to describe how superb this year has been, that’s why I’m labeling it “The Epic of 2010″. From coast to coast, outside the boarders of our country and right nearby my Studio in Linden, CA I bring you some images that are the storybook of my photographic year. With this post I’d like to, once again, thank all of the wonderful couples who have trusted their most important day with me. It has been an honor and privilege to photograph each and everyone of you. I’m so thankful for all of the clients turned friends and I’m just not quite sure how 2011 can be any better than 2010.
At first I was going to try to select one image from each wedding, than a series from each wedding, then my top 25, then my top ten and I ended up with just the most random group of whatever was speaking to me at the moment. There are images from weddings I haven’t even blogged yet on here. Obviously not every wedding I photographed this year is represented, I simply ran out of space/time. As I was posting this I was thinking of images and I wish were included, but perfection is equal to procrastination so please accept my apologies if you didn’t see yourself on here.
Also, I purposefully posted these collages at a bigger size so that you could enjoy each individual image. So sit back, open your eyes wide and enjoy.
