There are so many great photographs from this session and I think I’m just going to have to post a few at a time. This photograph was made on the Highline near the Standard Hotel in Chelsea (such a rad place). Anyhow, check it out. More to come later.

From time to time I try to share some photographs and stories from my personal life in my blog. I may shed a few tears over this one, but it is worth it. Eden Autry is my pride and joy. I could go on and on about how she can read at 4 years old, play the piano, quote whole chapters of Scripture and is almost as smart as your’s truly…but most of you who follow this blog know that already.
Eden has been stoked for weeks about starting Kindergarten (she’s super social and loves to learn) and the day finally came that we walked away from Stockton Christian School and left our daughter in the care of others. I got pretty choked up driving home to think about how fast she has grown up and how proud I am of her. She absolutely had a blast and as soon as she hopped in mommy’s car she was asking how many hours it was until she could go back. Awesome.
I’m glad I’ve taken time to make photographs of my children and family. I was looking through a few of them the other day and got kind of bummed out that I’m not in many of the photos. Duh. But then I started thinking about how I actually was “in” the photos. There is a piece of me in every click I make of the shutter and who knows where these photos will end up. I hope that some great great great grandkids one day will look back with appreciation at the family art that we created and smile. So here are some photos to document Eden’s first day of school.

not too stoked about getting her hair done.

At 2:00am (PST) TODAY Cheryl and I were on the New York City Subway in a state of weariness and pain. I couldn’t help but sit there and think about how New York City has been such a point of inspiration in my life. It is truly the most amazing city on earth. We hopped on a plane (I love Virgin America) and flew to San Francisco. I can’t even begin to list all of the places that we went and the things that we got to see in the short four days that we were in Manhattan. But needless to say, my feet hurt yet my mind is filled with memories of another great time in a great city far from home.
Tracy is an original New Yorker, born and raised in the city. You don’t even want to know how cool she is and she loves my kids which adds bonus points to her coolness. Then you throw Matt into the mix and they’re just a couple that is totally off of the charts. We braved the rain, grumpy museum security people and a stolen purse to make one of the most memorable engagement sessions I’ve photographed in my tenure as a wedding photographer. I can’t wait to cull/edit/process the whole session, Tracy and Matt are simply beautiful people. But until then, here is a little teaser with one of the coolest bike cabbies in Manhattan. Enjoy.

How cool is this? I’m on a flight to NYC right now and blogging at 35,000 feet! I’m flying Virgin America and so far I’m digging it and the GoGo Inflight Wifi is particularly awesome. It makes it nice that I can be productive on the flight all the way to New York where I’ll be shooting a sweet engagement session in Manhattan. So next flight try Virgin and you’ll be pretty stoked.
Now on to the blog post. PaNhia and Sna will be getting married next month in Modesto, CA and their awesome wedding is going to be held at Galletto Ristorante in downtown Modesto (one of my fave wedding venues). PaNhia is super stylish and really did well in front of the camera. I absolutely loved her dress and Sna’s Banana Republic suit was pretty sharp too!
We met out at Oak Farm Vineyards in Lodi, CA (another awesome wedding venue, thanks to Sarah, Dayna & Dan) for a shoot at one of the most beautiful, quaint places in the whole Valley. I love, love , love making photographs at this place! So here are a few photographs that stood out to me and I wanted to share with everyone. I can’t wait to bring you some NYC hotness soon! Enjoy.

NEW YORK CITY

August 20, 2009

I’m going to be in New York City tomorrow (8.20) until next Tuesday (8.25) and will be limited in email/phone responses. If you have an inquiry or question please go ahead and email/call as usual, but if it is urgent please note “911″ in the subject header.
I’ll be photographing an awesome engagement session while I’m in New York and I can’t wait! I’ll definitely try to keep things updated on the blog and if you don’t follow me on Twitter or Facebook, you should go check it out and stay in the loop. Cheryl is coming with me this time so we’re going to make a little mini vacation out of it. Is there anything that we shouldn’t miss? We’ll be doing some shopping, some eating and seeing some sites, so if you have any ideas let me know in the comment section below. Thanks and check back soon.
