Shooters……SHOT!

March 24, 2009

I’m so blessed with great friends in the photography industry and every once in awhile we get together to combine our awesomeness in fellowship. This time we met at the awesome Studio of Vince Jubilio (fashion photographer in SF) up near the Mission District in San Francisco. The photographers who joined were Sam Hassas, Stephanie Baker, Ed Pingol, Maurice Ramirez, Daniel Craig, Caroline Winata, Cathy Bresow, Evan Baines, Patrick O’Connor, Chris Cooke and Bryan Stapleton.
The goal of this meet-up was for each photographer to get on the other side of the camera. It was so eye opening and it really helped open my understanding as to how my clients feel when they’re on the other side of my camera. I think we all walked away with a better understanding of what it feels like to be “shot.” Here are a few of the photographs I made. Enjoy.

She’s Getting So Big

March 23, 2009

Eden is my joy, she is what I live for every day, the essence of my existence. She has such life and spunk. There are definitely moments that she can push you to the edge of sanity, but for the most part you have to ask God in your prayers if she is really an angel that he loaned to us. Cherish your time with your kids, they grow up too fast and not enough families really spend the time they need with each other. Enjoy.

I recently stumbled upon this blog from a friend who is on a professional wedding photographer’s forum and I thought I’d share it with everyone. Although it offers a pretty comical, satirical look at the industry, it is really educational and I think will help a lot of brides. There are a lot of misconceptions about wedding photography/photographers and I think this blog will help with some understanding. After all, most people only get married once so make your decisions wisely!

Feel free to forward this or post it on your own blog.

I had the awesome privilege and pleasure of photographing this beautiful couple at one of my new favorite places to shoot (do I say that every wedding?) called La Caille in beautiful Sandy, Utah which is right outside of Salt Lake City. The wedding at La Caille was warm, intimate and had such a beautiful tone that was equaled only by such a beautiful couple.
Aaron has been serving in Afghanistan and Dana has been teaching English in South Korea so it made the day even more memorable. I could go on and on about the talents this couple has, think Ivy League thesis’ written in foreign languages, but I was most impressed by the true depth of love they have for each other. You can tell that there is no way one could live without the other, just like Romeo and Juliet.
La Caille is such a beautiful wedding venue and Mary did a wonderful job coordinating the day. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and met some great new friends. I hope to go back to Utah one day and experience it all over again. Check out a few of the images from Aaron and Dana’s special day. Enjoy.
By the way, don’t forget to vote for me at the KCRA-3 A-list contest. Pretty please, thank you. It only takes a minute, CLICK HERE.

When Vera makes an appearance I’m always happy to take “shoe shots.”

The local newspaper caught them in action the day before at the airport. Feel the love!

Because…I CAN!
