Sara+Scott Engaged!

January 5, 2009

This awesome couple is extra awesome because they’re getting married at the same church that Cheryl and I did! And well, Scott has probably of the coolest names ever! I can’t wait to shoot their wedding next year at Morris Chapel on the University of Pacific campus, it is such a lovely building.
Sara and Scott have a cool, long-distance love story. I love hearing about people that make the long-distance thing work out, because that’s how we did it too! These two met at a wedding they were both in and decided that they were good at weddings so hey, let’s do our own! Thanks Sara and Scott for coming out in the cold (it was like 40 degrees) and being fabulous in front of the camera. Here are some of my faves from the session. Take care and enjoy.

2008 was such a rad year. So many cool things happened, so many amazing people came into my life, so many doors were opened and of course Huntley kicked off the year right by being born on January 10th.
Next year is proving to be another awesome year and I’m not even going to play the negative card that says, “go stock up on canned food and water because we’re going down.” There are a lot of people without work and hurting, but there are more people with good jobs and doing well. I think we just need to shift our focus.
The calendar for next year is definitely booking up fast for weddings and I limit my wedding commissions somewhere between 20-30 in order to give the highest level of service to every bride. It also looks like prices may be going up again!
Here are a few things I’ll be working on in 2009:
-Give to worthy causes and help those in need.
-Smile, more than anyone else in the room!
-Clean my closet.
-Add a 24L and a Tilt Shift lens into my compositions.
-Video blog.
-Attend a Jose Villa ad Gene Higa workshop.
-Establish my network in the Bay Area and Napa Valley.
-Have a fine art line of prints for sale (stay tuned for some cool news on this).
-Take a picture of something or someone every day.
-Destination wedding.
-Help as many new photographers as possible, maybe even host a small workshop.

So with that, I leave you with some of my favorite images of my awesome couples from 2008. Take care, rock this New Year out and enjoy. P.S. You have to hover your mouse below to find the play button.

I cannot wait to launch my new website! It is looking so slick and I know my clients will absolutely love the seamless interface and clean layout. One of the major components of the new site is video. I’ve been filming with my good friend Tim from Infinite Design over the last few months in order offer potential clients an inside look into what a shoot with me is all about. It is going to be a lot of fun, the interview is pretty classic.
So I hooked up with Tim and his lovely wife Audrey Anne to shoot some images for their website and help them build their media kit. It was so cool hanging out and connecting with such cool, down to earth and super talented people. If you’re looking for true cinematography for your wedding or you’re a photographer looking to build a promo video, Tim is basically the man! Check his link over to the right on my blog. So we rocked a lifestyle session and got them some killer images, I think they were just a little happy with these. Take care and HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Enjoy.
