I was on my friend and fellow photographer Dane Sanders‘ blog the other day and ran across this super interesting item. I’ve felt like a round peg trying to fit in a square hole for awhile. I’m conservative politically, well actually more libertarian…but I care about social issues. I think as Americans, it is ridiculous how much we consume. It is ridiculous how much we import to match our hunger for consumption. I’m totally guilty of this at times, but I’m trying to break that. Keeping up with the Joneses is at an all-time high! Who are we trying to impress and by what means? How about impressing people by our genuine kindness and good spirits. How about people noticing our pleasant smile instead of our Pradas. We’ve got to take account every once in a while and find out what really matters: God, family, faith, friends, happiness, integrity, honesty, peace with others and great photography of course. I know I’ll get flamed and “shot at” for this blog post by all the “neo cons” but listen to your heart. Watch the entire video, the end is where the solution is, so watch it! Seriously, the entire video, because the end is where the solution is, so watch it! Seriously.

In our never ending search for elegance, radness, distinction, and all things fine…we have developed one of the most unique business cards ever seen. Actually, it is the coolest business card (next to [b]ecker’s metal one). The response has been tremendous and I think I’m going to stick with it for awhile. Let me know what you think?

This is a new addition to the SAFP bloggness, so enjoy and let me know what you think.
I place a great deal of value on things that are important to me. I bought an $900 stroller (not to mention the attachments, cup holders, parasol, etc.) because I value my children. Yeah, there are other nice ones out there, but the Bugaboo Chameleon just plain rocks (check out the Disney slideshow to see it in action). It was an easy choice for my growing family!
How about photographs and photographers. Knowing that my images are going to be seen by everyone who walks in my door and gazes upon my walls, I want the best! I’ve been finding that my clients and I have the same feeling about this. There is just no substitution for excellence. Here is a quote by a smart, wealthy guy:
“A lot of people are paid well because there are certain things consumers just don’t want screwed up,” said Bill Coleman, senior vice president of compensation for Salary.com. “You wouldn’t want to board a plane flown by a second-rate pilot or hire a cheap wedding photographer to record an event you hope happens once in your lifetime
